OpenTalk and mgm enter into partnership to integrate video meetings into specialist processes

We are pleased to announce the strategic partnership with mgm technology partners (mgm)! Our common goal is to integrate OpenTalk into mgm's low code platform A12 to create an easy to integrate and professional video conferencing solution especially for the public sector.
Partnership for digital administration
Our collaboration will enable the seamless integration of secure video conferencing into digital specialist procedures, i.e. into specific business processes within public administration. mgm's A12 platform is already widely used in the public sector, so OpenTalk will benefit from the familiarity and existing use of this partnership. mgm, in turn, can expand its offering on the platform by integrating a professional video conferencing solution that is specifically suitable for use in public sector projects.
OpenTalk, developed as an open source solution in Germany, guarantees compliance with the GDPR and offers maximum flexibility, as it can be operated both in the company's own data center and as a SaaS service. In addition, OpenTalk is also planning to integrate the secure login procedures established in the administration, such as BundID or login via ELSTER organization certificates, in order to create further added value. The future solution is therefore in line with the Online Access Act (OZG) and promotes easier access to administrative services.
The partnership that has now been concluded accelerates the availability of video-supported specialist procedures and thus opens up new application possibilities in digital administration. The OpenTalk extension will be published under the European Public License (EUPL) on OpenCoDE.de in order to make the solution accessible to other administrative areas in accordance with the EfA principle ("one for all").
Planned integration of OpenTalk into the A12 platform
The technical details of the integration of OpenTalk as an optional module in the A12 platform are currently being worked out as part of a proof of concept. Customers and partners will later be able to integrate the video conferencing function directly into their specialist processes or access OpenTalk via the existing API interface. The solution is expected to be available in the first half of 2024.
Our partnership demonstrates our joint efforts to improve digital services for citizens and public administration. Markus Michels, Managing Director of OpenTalk, and Sergio Lerena Robles, member of mgm's Executive Board, emphasize the importance of this cooperation and the associated benefits for modern administration in the latest press release on the partnership.
For OpenTalk, this partnership, as well as the initiated BSI certification, is part of the strategy to provide a highly secure and digitally sovereign video conferencing solution for public administration.
