OpenTalk update: New features and optimizations in the latest release
Our goal is to continuously improve your experience with our OpenTalk video conferencing solution. We are therefore pleased to present the latest developments and improvements to our OpenTalk cloud service.
OpenTalk is the first video conferencing provider to receive the BSI's IT security label
OpenTalk is the first provider on the market to receive the IT security label for video conferencing services from the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). This label applies to our three plans "Starter", "Standard" and "Premium". With this award, the BSI confirms that OpenTalk has committed itself to fulfilling the security requirements of the new DIN SPEC 27008. These include the protection of user data, appropriate update and vulnerability management, up-to-date login procedures, secure data center operation, up-to-date encryption technologies as well as transparency and control during the video conference. We are pleased to make our commitment to IT security and the protection of our customers so transparent. Further information on the IT security label can be found here: https://opentalk.eu/en/news/opentalk-first-video-conferencing-solution-receive-bsis-it-security-label
"The IT security label for video conferencing services documents our commitment to setting standards in data protection, security and privacy with OpenTalk for digitally sovereign video conferencing. We are particularly proud of the certificate with the serial number 001," says Markus Michels, Managing Director of OpenTalk.
Improved usability and accessibility
We have made further technical optimizations in the areas of usability and accessibility. These include adjustments to colors, contrast and keyboard control. We have also improved usability on mobile devices. These measures are a step towards certification in accordance with the WCAG standard in order to provide the best possible support for user groups with disabilities.
In addition, OpenTalk users now have a complete overview of stored files from individual meetings in the "Storage" section of the dashboard settings. This provides an overview and makes it easier to find files from specific meetings. The total storage space used is also displayed.
The role of the moderator is now clearly displayed in the participant list. Moderators now have the option of muting all or individual participants, which makes it easier to manage large meetings.
Improved security in the login process
We have further increased the security of the login process by implementing PKCE technology. This measure ensures even better protection of your data and improves the overall security of our platform.
Send error reports manually
If something goes wrong in the video conference, users can now send error reports manually if the error is not detected automatically. These reports transmit technical information such as the browser used and other system parameters. Users can also add a comment to describe the problem in more detail.
Bug fixes
In addition to the new features, we have also fixed some bugs:
- Conflicts when planning conferences are now better recognized and displayed.
- A problem with establishing the audio or video connection when joining the conference has been corrected.
We wish you pleasant meetings with OpenTalk and thank you for your trust! - If you have any feedback on the new version, please send it to support@opentalk.eu .
