OpenTalk at the Univention Summit 2024

Meet OpenTalk on January 25 and 26 at the Univention Summit 2024 in Bremen - the open source event for IT project managers from companies, municipalities and federal states. Around 450 participants will meet to network and exchange experiences with software and hardware manufacturers and IT service providers. The focus will be on the latest developments in the field of digital sovereignty, successful open source projects and data protection-compliant digitalisation of school IT.

Video conferencing is an indispensable tool for digital collaboration. But how secure is our data on platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams or Webex given the possibilities of AI? This presentation sheds light on the dangers of machine processing of communication and the resulting existential risks for companies or the public sector. A look at the terms and conditions of individual providers reveals certain interests. We will highlight the importance of digital sovereignty and open source for secure and trustworthy communication.

Workshop "OpenTalk: In UCS out of the box integrated!" (German)

Like Univention UCS, the open source video conference OpenTalk authenticates using Keycloak according to the OpenIDConnect standard. We will show you step by step how you can quickly and easily connect OpenTalk to your existing UCS installation and thus create your own digitally sovereign video conferencing solution. In addition to the necessary requirements, we also highlight advanced features such as automation, user search and the use of group features in UCS.

Workshop "Secure & certified: Digitally sovereign video conferencing with OpenTalk" (German)

OpenTalk is the secure, German video conferencing solution for anyone who values productivity, data protection and digital sovereignty. Developed from scratch as an open source solution, it competes against international players as well as a successor to Jitsi or BBB. We show the current state of development and give an outlook on the roadmap 2024, e.g. end-to-end encryption, the integration of H.323/Cisco or the requested CC-EAL4 certification of the BSI.
