OpenTalk Update: Improved security & user-friendliness

Digital communication is constantly evolving—and so is OpenTalk. The update of our video conferencing solution to version 25.1.3 brings significant improvements in security, usability, and accessibility.
Enhanced security measures
The security of the OpenTalk platform has been comprehensively improved. We have reduced potential attack vectors by switching to optimized base images for our containers. User data protection has been further enhanced through improved data protection controls. For organizations that use encrypted rooms, we have also refined information processing to ensure that sensitive meeting details remain protected throughout the entire communication process.
Optimized user experience
Audio transmission is now reliably guaranteed during screen sharing, so your presentations can include sound if required. Camera and microphone handling after permission changes has been improved, as has the functionality of background effects, especially for mobile devices and Firefox ESR users. The aspect ratio of the video display is now maintained even when using background effects on Android devices.
Meeting management has been optimized with improved handling of note export and better support for breakout rooms. Connection recovery after temporary network interruptions now works more reliably. Various issues in the user interface have been fixed, including those related to camera permission rejection.
Progress in accessibility
Our commitment to an inclusive platform is reflected in several accessibility improvements. A link to the accessibility statement has been added to the application menu to make it easier to access relevant information. The behavior of the space bar has been made more consistent across the interface. Focus control during form submissions has been improved, as has compatibility with screen readers in various areas of the application.
Other updates
The design of the menu icons has been revised for greater clarity. Environment configurations are now more flexible thanks to additional customization options. Overall platform stability has been improved through numerous bug fixes.
Known issues: Switching between two cameras not possible
A bug has been identified in the current release of OpenTalk that prevents switching between two existing cameras. We are already working on a solution and apologize for any inconvenience.
A complete overview of all features and bug fixes can be found in the technical release notes.
