OpenTalk at Siedl Community Summit 2026
On May 27, 2026, the Siedl Community Summit (SiCom) will return for its next edition, once again bringing together IT professionals, open-source enthusiasts, and decision-makers from the business and public sectors in Krems an der Donau. OpenTalk will be participating again this year with an engaging presentation, demonstrating why secure, sovereign communication is more important today than ever before.
From 2:45 to 3:15 p.m., Peer Heinlein will speak on a topic that has long been at the center of strategic decision-making:
Digital Independence
Digital sovereignty is no longer an abstract concept, but a central prerequisite for the state’s ability to act and for corporate resilience, especially in times of crisis. The presentation will highlight why dependencies on proprietary systems and international platforms pose a growing risk and why open source plays a key role in secure, verifiable, and controllable communication.
Using OpenTalk as an example, the presentation will demonstrate how modern communication solutions can be operated independently, transparently, and securely, and what steps are necessary now to ensure digital self-determination in the long term.
A Meeting Place for Exchange and Future Technologies
SiCom 2026 once again offers a platform for knowledge transfer, networking, and innovation. In addition to presentations on open source, IT security, and digital infrastructure, participants can expect practical insights, discussions with industry experts, and diverse opportunities for exchange.
We look forward to engaging conversations and in-person exchanges!
