Bandwidth issues

Issue

The video conference is using too much bandwidth. How can I reduce bandwidth usage?

Cause

High resolution: Using high resolution settings in the video conference increases bandwidth requirements. Lower the resolution to reduce bandwidth usage.

Multiple simultaneous connections: If many participants are in the video conference at the same time, this can lead to overload. Reduce the number of concurrently active connections or advise participants to reduce their video quality.

Other data-intensive applications: Running data-intensive applications at the same time may reduce the available bandwidth for the video conference. Cease or reduce such activities during the conference.

Network congestion: A high number of users using the network at the same time can cause congestion. Reduce the number of devices or use a higher bandwidth connection.

Weak internet connection: A slow or unstable internet connection will affect bandwidth during the video conference. Check your internet speed and contact your internet service provider to troubleshoot any issues.

Legacy Network Infrastructure: Legacy network equipment can impact bandwidth usage. Upgrade your routers, modems, or other network devices to enable more efficient use of bandwidth.

Solution

You can reduce bandwidth usage by turning off your video camera, muting your microphone when you're not speaking, and closing other applications that are using your Internet connection. You can also reduce the quality of incoming and outgoing camera streams in the camera settings.
